EKOW Rideshare is a transportation platform designed for adult users. While our app content is suitable for all audiences, using our services requires meeting specific age and eligibility requirements.

Content Rating

EKOW is rated E for Everyone in terms of app content. Our platform does not contain or promote any material that is inappropriate for general audiences, including:

• No violence, profanity, or mature themes
• No gambling or simulated gambling
• No alcohol, tobacco, or drug-related content
• No sexual content or nudity
• No unrestricted web access

However, because EKOW facilitates real-world transportation services involving financial transactions and physical travel, we require all users to meet minimum age requirements.

Age Requirements

How We Verify Rider Eligibility

To book a ride on EKOW, riders must add a valid credit or debit card to their account. This payment requirement serves as our primary age verification mechanism for riders:

• Credit and debit cards are issued by financial institutions that require the cardholder to be at least 18 years of age
• Card details are validated through Stripe, our PCI-compliant payment processor, before a rider can request their first ride
• Riders cannot book a ride without a verified payment method on file

This is a business policy requirement enforced through payment processing, consistent with industry standards for rideshare and transportation services.

How We Verify Driver Eligibility

Drivers undergo a comprehensive verification process before they are approved to accept rides on the EKOW platform. Every driver must provide:

Required Documentation

• Valid driver's license — Must be current and issued by a U.S. state or territory. The license confirms the driver meets the minimum age of 21.
• Vehicle registration — Proof that the vehicle used for rides is properly registered.
• Proof of insurance — Valid auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements.

Background Check

All driver applicants are subject to a criminal background check conducted through our third-party screening partner. This check reviews:

• National criminal database records
• Sex offender registry
• Motor vehicle records

Admin Review

After all documents are submitted and the background check is complete, an EKOW administrator manually reviews each driver application before granting approval. No driver can accept rides without passing this full review process.

Compliance with App Store Guidelines

EKOW complies with both Apple App Store and Google Play Store guidelines regarding age ratings and content suitability:

• Apple App Store: EKOW is rated 4+ (suitable for all ages). Our age verification is a business policy enforced through payment and documentation requirements, not a technical "Age Assurance" mechanism as defined by Apple. Per Apple's guidelines, the correct Age Assurance setting for this approach is "None."
• Google Play Store: EKOW is rated "Everyone" with the target audience of 18+ adults. The app is not designed for or marketed to children.

Children's Privacy

EKOW is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete that information. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
